I believe our Republic is in serious trouble and if we do not make some changes it will never recover. I believe many of the problems are caused by career politicians who work only to get re-elected. I believe that these career politicians are out of touch with what is really going on in our country, and the only way to resolve the problems these politicians are causing is to elect new people.
I believe we have the greatest Constitution in history that has provided We The People the best place in which to raise our families. I believe we still have to continue to work every day to keep our liberties from being taken away, and to keep We the People in control of the government, not the government in control of us. I believe it is time to vote out the career politicians and believe as the founding fathers did, that the government should be “OF THE PEOPLE.” I believe God set a path in front of me and I chose to follow it.
I am Steve McFall. I am of the people and for the people. I am running for the United States House of Representatives, Congressional District 3 of New Mexico. I humbly ask for your vote, your financial support, and that you believe with me that together we can build a better future for our children, this state and this country.
I believe that career politicians are destroying our government. The top 6 democrats and the top 6 republicans combined have over 300 years in congress. This is not what the founding fathers intended. Ben Franklin believed that a large constitutional republic would be the most perfect form of government but it would be hard to keep. He said it would be hard to keep basically because of human nature. Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence “and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.” 240 years ago humans were doing the same thing over and over and over. I do not agree with term limits. Instead of the question being would we support a Convention of States to amend the Constitution for this or any other reason? We should ask, Are WE THE PEOPLE not capable of self government? Do we have to give away another bit of our freedom because we keep doing the same thing over and over? WE THE PEOPLE can vote out of office 468 of the 535 members of congress in every single election. but we choose to suffer, while evils are sufferable, instead of righting ourselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. Ben Ray Lujan is a perfect example of this. He ran for congress and because his name is Lujan he was voted in as our congressman. Let’s keep our freedom to choose by exercise our freedom and right to vote, we can end the term of any career politicians and we will not need an amendment to the constitution.
I am a Christian man and I believe abortion is wrong no matter how you want to paint it. Even in the case of rape and incest that is still a life and one evil violent act does not constitute doing another especially when there are so many that cannot have a baby that would adopt those babies. As far as planned parenthood, there are only about 700 clinics in the country and there are many clinics in communities that provide the same health care and contraceptive services as planned parenthood. Planned parenthood has way less than 50% of the population supporting it and because of this it should not get one penny of tax payers money. It does not serve the greater good of WE THE PEOPLE and we should not be funding it. The pro-choice movement I believe is a joke. All but a few of the women that got pregnant already made a choice. That Babies divine right to live trumps a woman’s refusal to deal with the consequences of the choice she already made.
When we hear about immigration reform most of us think of the Illegal immigrants. We do need immigration reform but it must include reform of the legal immigration system as well as the illegal system. The US Allowed a person to bring their immediate family to our country if they had obtained legal immigrant status. There were about 250,000 people that immigrated to our country every year. This was a sustainable number. Meaning that our economy could assimilate them and be able to provide jobs for a source of income they could live on. In 1965 congress changed the law so that a legal immigrant could also bring extended family as immigrants to our country. This increased legal immigration to about one million immigrants a year into the country. This number is not sustainable for our economy and we must change it. Every country in the world has immigration laws that they enforce. We must stop Obama and the federal government from bringing in immigrants and telling the states what they will do with them. We the people should not be told we have to let all these people in and that we will take care of them. We must also secure our southern border and stop the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs and terrorists from entering this country. We must also enforce the laws on the books that say if you overstay you visa or come here illegally you will be deported. Period. Illegal immigration is one of the main causes that wages stay low because they take jobs at less pay than Americans get. Advocates say these people take jobs that Americans wont. I guarantee that is we cut many of the able body and able mind people off of welfare they will go take these jobs and most likely at a higher rate than what illegal immigrants are paid. We need to stop the federal government from bringing people from Syria and the surrounding countries. If countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab emirates will not accept them mostly for security reason why should we. All we have to do is look at the problem in Europe to see we should not let these people in. We need to secure our southern border and stop in illegal immigration, we need to deport any and all that have come here illegally or have over stayed their visa and we need to reduce the number of legal immigrants allowed in each year. We must do this because our economy simply cannot handle that massive number of immigrants and it will collapse.
(or, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)
This is a tough issue but the fact remains that these people are here illegally and can be deported. The reasons we should consider doing anything is because The United States has not enforced its immigration laws and have not secured the southern border. The fault lies with the Federal Government. Hope that these people could become citizens when then President Obama exceeded his constitutional authority to play politics with lives of these people and he gave them DACA. For this reason I believe we must give them that chance.
The only people included with be those that originally signed up for DACA and have followed the rules of it.
Congress must put forth the bill for the president to sign this into law. Then and only then will these people bi given the chance to get in the line to be a citizen.

Jerald (Steve) McFall was born in Raton, New Mexico on December 15, 1965, to Thelma and Dick McFall. He grew up on his family’s farm outside of Springer with his two younger brothers, Dwayne and Stanley. He has one daughter, Maia and a granddaughter, Alice. One of his main reasons for running for office is that he wants them to be able to live the American dream just as he has.
Steve has been a dedicated student at the University of New Mexico and has tailored his studies to focus on what he feels is vital for representing the people of New Mexico. He is deeply committed to making his service fit the people and their needs. He feels that because he is not a career politician, he will be able to approach things with a fresh outlook and present himself as someone who can get things done. Life on the farm taught him that and today he continues to carry on that life of hard work, responsibility and resourcefulness, by helping to farm over 1000 acres.
Everything in his life has led him to this place where being a great public servant is what he sees as his next big step. He knows the value of hard work and the importance of giving his word to help those in need of assistance and guidance. He has a gift of gathering people together to accomplish tasks and create community.
Steve feels that he has been able to accomplish many things in his life because he was born in the United States. He loves his country and is very proud to be an American. His core beliefs center around the document he feels to be so integral to our success and will uphold the Constitution in everything he does. He states, “Our founding fathers set up a government that has given the people of the United States more freedom and the ability to prosper than any other nation in the world.” He is asking for your support in making this country again more prosperous and free. Our freedom is our strength. It ‘s what sets us apart and makes all things possible.
He believes God put this path in front of him and he chose to follow it. He believes we need to do something different and not only ask what we can do for our country and ourselves, but actually do it. He believes we should vote out career politicians and renew our government using the guidelines that our forefathers set forth. He believes we should help our children attain the best education that will suit their needs and will prepare them for the task of becoming our next leaders, business people, teachers and doctors, etc. He believes we should provide support for our veterans to whom we owe so much. He believes we should replace the tax code in order to improve our economy and help our families. He believes we can move people out of poverty instead of keeping them poor. He believes we should reduce the size of government, give people the power to make decisions and create a more efficient system. He believes we should fix our immigration system where people who want to live in our great country can enter within the framework of our laws and follow their dreams. He believes that we should restore liberty to ourselves and our posterity so the United States will continue to be the best country in which to live, work, raise a family, and follow our own dreams.
America is already great, he believes we can make it even better.
